OTTER® digs deep to help clients
The nation's ongoing appetite for DIY projects has heralded good times for the hardware industry, but it has also heightened customer expectations about the products and service the industry provides.
Otter Group Pty Ltd is a privately owned company that has continued to listen to the changing needs of the market since 1959. Under its brands of OTTER®, Titan Wire Products and ScrewFix Screws, it is continually releasing fresh, innovative products including unique, user-friendly nail buckets, handy screw packs and marine grade (316) stainless steel decking screws and bugle battens.
“We have been supplying the Australian hardware industry for over 40 years," says Managing Director Ray Otter. “To stay cutting edge, we maintain contact with over 2,500 hardware outlets."
The company operates its head office, modern manufacturing and warehousing facility at a three-acre complex in Melbourne.
Otter says his team is not only interested in manufacturing and supplying quality products, but it is also intent on providing strong marketing, service and supply assistance to retailers.
“Hardware is a competitive sector, so new product development is crucial," he explains. “As manufacturers, we also need to provide our clients with packaging and POS material that is fresh and engaging."
Latest in a line of ongoing product introductions is a full range of over 190 screw products in convenient handy packs. The handy blister packs are representative of the broader screw range, and have been designed to encompass those products that would be most sought after in small pack sizes.
In addition, a new design of bulk nail bucket has also been released to the market. This robust plastic bucket has a durable handle that makes it easy to carry. The design also addresses OH&S issues. The buckets have colour-coded lids and clear bases, enabling the contents to be quickly and easily identified.
